FLORIDA BEARS ARE UNDER ATTACK
The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is considering a black bear hunt despite the absence of current population data. This proposal is not only unscientific but also reckless. Since 2016, the majority of Floridians have vehemently opposed such hunts, and this sentiment remains unchanged in 2025. No scientific justification for a bear hunt has been presented. The FWC's black bear population study will not be completed until 2029. Without updated, reliable data, any decision to reinstate a bear hunt is premature, unethical, and scientifically unsound. Hunting regulations must be based on science, not special interests. The FWC's primary responsibility is wildlife conservation, not sanctioning hunts without scientific justification.
